Projects_LandscapeFoxrock  Dublin 18  Ireland

The site is located on one of the main artery roads leading to the city of Dublin.  The site fortunately has good links with the city via public transport and a dedicated bus lane accessible directly outside the scheme.  Foxrock is a sought after area for people working in Dublin but wanting to live on the outskirts of the city, providing more value for money and space to raise a family.  The development comprises of 14 two bedroom apartments; ranging between 80-100m2 and 5 penthouse apartments ranging between 135 -145m2 with panoramic views looking out towards the sea.  The apartments have been split into four buildings arranged to form an entrance courtyard and street leading to an informal green space area located to the rear of the site, whilst also accommodating a natural fall in the site.

Following our commission as design consultants of the Apartments the client appointed us to undertake the landscape design for this residential development.  As we were designing the building it gave us the opportunity to integrate landscape with architecture.  This is an aspect of design that is often overlooked by practices here in the UK, it is however one of the core principles of our design process.  We can never emphasise enough to our clients, of the importance of architecture and its integration with the landscape.
