Projects_Landscape /  Family Garden  Carmarthenshire

We were asked to design the garden for a young family who are building themselves a home that is now nearing completion. The grounds are substantial and the proposed design seeks to create a balance of the natural and the manmade so that the garden is a joy and not a burden that demands a lot of maintenance and hence time, time that should be spent with the family.

The site is steeply sloping and split into four areas, a hard terrace surrounding the house, a lawn for the use of the family, a terraced kitchen garden with timber deck and summer house and a semi wild garden with pockets of lush planting and rill descending to a pond. Timber steps ascend from the house to a living willow play area and timber deck with views over the valley.
